---+ !LutherNet Security Certificate Luther Seminary uses its own Certificate of Authority to provide secure connections across the Internet. To effectively use this system, you need to install the Root Certificate. The instructions below are for installing the secure certificate in your browser. This is already done for you on all campus computers. If you do not install the certificate as detailed below you can still accept the certificate for the web site, but you may receive a security certificate or warning prompt each time you revisit the web site. Choose your browser and operating system from the list below and follow the instructions accordingly. *The Seminary's recommended browser is Mozilla Firefox.* * <a href="#firefox">Mozilla Firefox: All operating systems - Windows and Macs</a> * <a href="#iexp">Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari: Windows XP</a> * <a href="#ievista7">Internet Explorer, Chrome and Sarfari: Vista/Windows 7</a> * <a href="#s_cmac">Safari and Chrome: Mac</a> ---+++ Not sure what operating system you have? * For PCs: Click Start, Right-click My Computer or Computer (for Vista/Windows 7), and Select Properties. This will bring up a dialog box that will will tell you what operating system you have. * For Macs: Click the Apple on the top menu bar, Click About This Mac. From the download dialog box, choose “Open this file from its current location” 1 Click Ok 1 Click Install Certificate 1 Accept the installation wizard Defaults ---++ <a name="ievista7"></a>Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari: Vista and Windows 7 1 Download the [[https://weblogin.luthersem.edu/luther.crt][Server Certificate]] 1 Click Open 1 Click Allow to continue opening the file. 1 Click Install Certificate 1 Click Next 1 Choose Place all certificates in the following store then click Browse 1 Select Trusted Root Certification Authorities from the list and click OK 1 The certificate store should read Trusted Root Certification Authorities then click Next 1 Click Finish 1 You should see the security warning below click Yes (You may want to make sure the Thumbprint matches) 1 You should see import successful 1 Click Ok ---++ <a name="s_cmac"></a>Safari and Chrome: Mac OS X 1 Download the [[https://weblogin.luthersem.edu/luther.crt][Server Certificate]] to your desktop. (Right click and choose "Download linked file as…" for Safari or "Save Link As..." for Chrome.) 1 Double click the luthernet.crt file on your desktop – this will open the Keychain Access application. 1 Select 'X509Anchors' or 'System' from the 'Keychain' dropdownlist and press 'OK'. 1 Enter your Mac computer user account name and password when prompted. 1 Click Ok.
